Why must I verify my business

You don't have to. That is if you don't mind that your information may be incorrect or the photo's on Top Twenty are old and outdated. By verifying your business you can update your information and make sure that customers can get in touch with you. Top Twenty Verified businesses are trusted by our users because users know that the business has taken ownership of the listing and will not be wasting their time. Our users prefer to deal with businesses that are Verified.

How do I add a place?

  1. In order to add a new place you have to register first. Click on the login link on the top of the page and then click on register, or you can register here.
  2. Once you have registered, you will receive a email. Click on the link to verify your email address.
  3. You can now log in. Click on the login link at the top of the page.
  4. Enter your email address and password to login.
  5. Before you add a place, first search to see if it doesn't already exist in Top Twenty.
  6. Click on the drop down with the city names and then select the city you are looking for.
  7. On the city page, type in the name of the place or click on the relevant category.
  8. If you can't find the place then you may add it.
  9. Click on the "Add a Place" on the top of the page.
  10. Complete the details of the place. If you are at the place and you are using a mobile phone, you can click on "Get Location" and the GPS coordinates will be automatically entered.
  11. You don't need the GPS coordinates if you have the address of the place.
  12. Add a photo for the place.
  13. Click the Submit button. Your place has been added.

How do the awards work?

There are many awards that a business can win on Top Twenty. Here are a few:

  1. Monthly Winner
    The monthly award is awarded to the top business in that category, in that town. Only one business can receive this award in the town and in that particular category. If there is more than one business with a 5-star rating then the one with the most votes will win. The winner badge is displayed on the business page. The object is to try and get as many badges as possible. Customers will buy from the highest rated business with the most awards.
  2. Annual Award
    The annual award is the same as the monthly award but for the entire year. In order to get this award you have to get 5-star ratings from every single reviewer. This prestigious reward is difficult to achieve. The winners will display a printed certificate in their business.

Can I remove my business?

No. You can unlink yourself as the owner of the business. Log in, go to your profile and click on "My Places". If you have previously claimed the bsuiness and your claim has been verified, you can remove yourself as the manager.

The business will however remain on Top Twenty, as will the reviews and ratings received by the business.
If the reviews violate Top Twenty’s policy, consider these steps for taking action. Be advised that Top Twenty may not remove them.

If the reviews are negative but genuine, we will not remove them. Remedy the problems, in-house, that consumers are citing and master responding to reviews in a way that can save customers and your business.

If the business is unable to remedy structural problems being cited in reviews, the company may lack the necessary components for success.

Short of completely rebranding and moving your business to a new location, your business must be prepared to manage negative reviews. Unless consumers are citing illegal behaviors (in which case, you need legal counsel rather than marketing), negative reviews should be viewed as a FREE blueprint for fixing the issues that customers are citing.

Bear in mind that many unhappy customers won’t take the time to complain. They’ll just go away in silence and never return to your business again. When a customer takes the time to voice a complaint, seize this as a golden opportunity to win him back and to improve your business for all future customers.
